    Sidney Langston, Ph.D., D.Min., R.N.,
    Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

Sidney has over 30 years of experience as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in both private and state hospitals and outpatient facilities. She taught psychiatric nursing at Delaware Technical and Community College and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also has a background in medical-surgical and ICU nursing and served in a nursing and counseling capacity with JAARS Inc., the technical-support arm of Wycliffe Bible Translators.

In addition to overseeing client care at El Rophe, Sidney conducts individual, marital and family counseling with empathy and warmth, interweaving Scriptural principles with therapeutic techniques.

A gifted communicator, she writes mental health literature, conducts seminars on psychological and Biblical topics, and hosts Journey to Wholeness, El Rophe's daily radio program.

She continues her missionary outreach traveling abroad engaged in teaching, speaking and counseling.

Hamp's strong blend of Scripture application and empathy is an effective combination in addressing his clients' needs. He provides therapy for marital problems, relationship difficulties, family issues, anxiety and mood disorders, unresolved past issues, and difficult transitions in life. He sees individuals, couples and families. Hamp also enjoys speaking publicly to groups on a variety of mental health topics.

Christina H. Rape, M.A.

Christina brings a range of experience to El Rophe through her work with both children and adults. She has worked with both adult victims and perpetrators of domestic violence as well as children who have experienced abuse, neglect and/or dependency. Christina also has experience through her work at Broughton Hospital where she dealt with many adult psychiatric disorders, implementing diagnosis, treatment planning and therapeutic practice. Currently Christina is employed with the local school system. Her responsibilities include crisis intervention, group and individual counseling. This therapy focuses on self esteem, eating disorders, anger and grief management, as well as separation and divorce issues.

Duane Thompson, M.A., N.C.C.

Duane comes from a background in school counseling with children ages from four to 16 years and has worked with guiding them through their developmental stages. He has a special interest in counseling individuals and couples in a caring Christian environment. Duane uses his foundation in counseling and psychology, seeing people of all ages who may have unmet mental health and relationship issues, while relying on the Scriptures as his cornerstone.
